who likes gundam wing more than seed or zeta?

That may not be a direct quote but that was what I remember the end to say. All that I could think about was, what a gay way to end a gay anime series, and I cannot imagine how anybody could like this. I meani everyhting was so dry that I did not care what happened to the characters, any good plot that they may have had going on was eventually ruined by the fact that the characters were not likeable. Also any seen that was suppose to be emotional I found myself thinking that this may be the first anime series that I watched but could not finish because it was so boring. I had high hopes for wing, and as high hopes that I had for it, it fell twice as much.

To think every one just stopped fighting right there like that, I mean come on. It's the same idea with gun control, some people have this crazy notion that if we all gave up our guns all wars will cease. The world, correction no world works that way. If some doesn't like the way they are being governed and they can't get the authories to see their issues, then they are going to use force of arms to make them see it. So no one is just going to give up something that gives them that kind of power, not a gun or a mobile suit.

Wing's ending was too much of a 90's kinder gentler Gundam.

I am too lazy to read all of that, but I agree with you for the most part, plus we do not need gun control we need bullet controll as Chris Rock put it. Zeta's ending was so much better, it proved that not every ending has to be happy where everybody lays down their weapons and everybody comes out fine. It could be that since Zeta's end was so dark they made wing gundams so gay, but even if you take out the end wing is still the worst gundam ever created to me

I didnt like Wing's ending but on a whole the series was good. And I still hate G Gundam, cmon, gundams using martial arts and DBZ type special moves

Martial arts and super type moves are quite common in the Super Robot genre. Yes, Gundam primarily belongs to the Real Robot genre, but I have no problems with a Gundam anime having Super Robot anime. I found it a fresh and new take on the Gundam franchise, I found the combat and piloting style to be quite reminescent of that of Tosho Daimos, definitely a positive factor.


I felt Wing on the otherhand has no merit. It is merely another rehash (albeit with several changes) of Mobile Suit Gundam. Another factor was that it was a mashup of both the Super and Real Robot genres, with the Gundams having near invulnerable bodies, outlandish paint schemes unsuitable for real combat, garish impractical weaponry, and a distinct lack of tactical knowledge. All traits of the Super Robot Genre. The other mobile suits (save the suits covered in plot armor) were all real types, not being able to even dent the Gundams. One sided battles that ended up being boring to watch, as the Gundams were never in any real harm. And don't get me started on the cookie cutter two dimensional characters.

Truthfully Zengar I think almost all Gundams and GMs have an unsuitable paint job for real warfare, that's Bandai's doing however. Where as most Zaku IIs look right in dark green and some painted for the enviroment. Now that's taking the realistic robot to the levels it's meant to be.

In the colors area Seed follows in Wing's example, even if it follows MSG plot.

Zeta is the ownage! it had so many good pilots, Scirocco, Haman, and Kamille. There was so many things done right with zeta,its story, battles, and the characters were probably among the most likeable in any gundam series, because there is somebody for everybody.

Some where I've read that Tomino wanted the original Gundam to be all light grey, it was Bandai's idea that wanted it more colorful so as to sell colorful toys. The one Gundam that got the colors that Tomino wanted on it was the Gundam RX-93, that striking black and white scheme was picked by Tomino and he wasn't going to budge on it for Bandai that time.
