Technically this should be in the Anime section, but I figure that most people who would be interested in this show would be those who occupy the Gundam Forum. This was one show that I had been anticipating for a very long time, and the first episode has just been released on Animesuki. I know quite a bit of the plot from playing the SRWOG GBA Game, but I still found the first episode to be quite good.
I don't know how to quite describe it, since it has elements from just about every Robot genre category, and is all integrated together. It includes elements from the real type robot genre, (a human war, mass produced mechs like GMs and Zakus, Newtype like powers and abilities), super robot genre (Outlandish weapons, extra terrestrial enemies) and even a few elements of the fantasy robot genre (robots that are mystical in nature).
I highly suggest trying this anime out!
You can download it from http://animesuki.com/group.php/425.html
If you want, you can also give the SRW OG OVA a shot, but I'd advise against it, as it is meant to be a sequel to the GBA Games, while the TV Series is a retelling of the events from the games.
Here is the OP from YouTube, as well as a few images from some of the mecha.
Note: I believe some of the mecha was designed by Hajime Katoki, so don't be surprised if you see some mecha that look like Gundams

Super Robot War OG: Divine Wars TV series

Re: Super Robot War OG: Divine Wars TV series
Not a big fan of the Original Generation storyline, but Cobray and Dis Astranagant appeared in the prologue of the first episode. Therefore, this anime is automatically awesome. The only thing that could possibly be more awesome would be if Bian, Cobray and Shu have a 3 on 3 duel with Ryusei, Ingram and Masaki. And the losing team has to drink one of Kushua's health drinks XD

Nice to see someone ele familiar with the SRW games. I was actually quite surprised when I saw Cobray at the prologue, and I was even more surprised when I saw 2 Dis Astranagun units. I was not expecting any of the SRW Alpha 3 cast to make it into the TV series. I'm hoping Touma and the Raioh/DaiRaioh appears, but sadly, I highly doubt they will make it in.

I just hope Cobray's appearance was more than a cameo. They spent a little too much time on Ingram's dream to just throw him away, after all

I'm sure they have something more in store for Cobray, as I am sure that for it to be in the prologue, it would have to be something important. It will be explained later. I would personally like to know why there were two Dis Astranagun units (and what happened to the Werkbau?). After all, not every viewer would have played through the games and recognize the characters, the TV series seems to be building up to allow newcomers, unlike the SRWOG 3Ep. OVA that was purely fanservice (it was great fanservice, but fanservice nonetheless)

I thought Ingram was piloting the normal Astranagant/Astranagun/Whatever spelling you want to use o_O.
After all, I'm pretty sure Dis was the only one with a Z.O. Scythe. As for why they both exist at the same time, fanservice. Pure fanservice! Who wouldn't want to see the two of them smashing eachother to bits?
