Jinki: Extend

Jinki: Extend is starting to be one of the greatess animes... Never really liked robot type animes, but Jinki: Extend has a different twist to it... it just came out in the US...

I've been reading the manga for it, but ADV pulled a Viz and stopped at vol.3

I hope that doesn't become a habit of theirs. It's usually Viz that starts a manga series and drops them.

It's pretty much another super robot series, but Akao is so cute and Ryohei is a cool leader and trainer of the rest of those girls. Or did I just give something away? I haven't seen the anime yet so I don't know how far the first DVD gets compaired to the manga.

I have only seen 4 or 5 episodes but I thought it was pretty goog. The theme isnt all that original though.

It IS really nice... I looks like your common robot show... but it's about a thousand times better... It has a better plot platform... and better twist... ...

I'd say better looking pilots is what it's got, well except for the blonde. She just doesn't do it for me. It is one of the few super robot series that interests me other than Giant Robo, I go more for the realistic type robot series normally. The Jinki while being super robots look more like the realistic type. Plus any one can pilot them, but to make full use of one they must be a Cognate, much like Gundam had Newtype which often were better pilots than oldtypes.
Until pilots like Gato, Yazan and Zabine came along and gave Newtypes are hard time.

Of course it's a guy thing Akao is cute, but Ryohei Ogawara is a pretty cool guy. So he's not a Cognate, he seem to be able to handle himself in a fight better than the Cognates and he seems near unkillable as well.

Yeah, as much as I did not like Yazan, he kicked ass. Though I do not know what they did to him in ZZ, another one of my gripes against it.

I would like to know however why ADV cancelled the manga series for Jinki, and who is releaseing the anime version of it. Could this help ADV to consider finishing the manga?
