I had no idea Goku was voice acted by a woman in the Japanese version. I really didn't know even after all this time. If I had known sooner, I would have become a bigger fan. I guess I blame the dub for being so frickin' lame. It was what turned me away from the series (other than the uniteresting plots).

Lol, I think the complete opposite; I think the Japanese voice of Goku is horrid and the English voice of Goku is great. To each his/her own, eh?

Yeah I noticed that when I watched one of the movies. I'm all like, isn't Goku like 20-some years old, why does he sound like he's still a kid?

Personally, I think the original Japanese voice acting was terrible for Goku. Maybe, I'm just used to the English dub, but I can't see that shrill girly voice being paired with Goku.

I've heard the Japanese voices. They are all terrible and don't go with the characters' personalities at all.

I too must say I prefer the English dub voices for the characters. The Japanese voice dont fit the characters as well, not in my opinion

Surprisingly, I think all the Japanese audio - voices and music - for DBZ is puketastic. And I watch all my anime in Japanese. (No, not saying that in a "I'm so cool" way, just making a point.)

I really loved the first dub cast for DBZ, the one done by Ocean Studios. Brian Drummond as Vegeta = rocked my world. I think FUNi's recasting of the voices was just as bad as the Japanese version, and also makes me cringe.
