Re: re: immortal pokemon??
I think the flame on the tail of Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard also show how they are, health-wise. I dunno.
There are two monuments for dead Pokémon. One in Kanto (Pokémon Tower, in Lavender Town - I think), and one in Hoenn (Mt. Pyre, for whoever was asking). Pokémon die, but you don't see it. In the Anime, they come close to dying many times (Charmander in the first episode you see it, and later on when it's a Charizard, is a good example), but usually the battles are regulated (Gym or tournament battles), or there are situations that keep them from dying. Usually, because the battle ends before that can happen.
Seriously, if you begin to debate why the main characters don't die on this show, then you will have to start questioning the reasons why the main characters of ALL shows don't die. Like The X-Files. Mulder and Scully get into so many dangerous situations, come near to almost dying, are even abducted by aliens (and it is even believed that Mulder IS dead), but they always come back in the end. Why?
We don't question it, because it's stupid to question. If you love the characters, don't wish them dead. If you hate them... well, don't watch. If you like your main characters dying constantly, go watch Dragonball Z, they always die and are resurected.

Re: re: immortal pokemon??
By the way... I KNOW there is a Manga out there where the Blue/Gary character actually has one of his Pokémon KILL an Arbok. Seriously, it's sliced in half.
So don't say Pokémon aren't seen dying, just because it's not in the Anime. But I just remembered - there's been a time or two where Pikachu was close to dying, too.

Spoiler
Show
And Ash actually did die in the first movie... but the tears of all the Pokémon brought him back. Aww.

Re: immortal pokemon??
Pokemon die. Just not because of battle. If they didn't die, then the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town (or later in the games the Soul House) would have no purpose. Yes, the PT has ghost pokemon but that wasn't its reason of origin.

First Off. WOW! I Am Surprised to see someone else that knows these things, (i thought i was all awone... lol). Second, Pokemon die for several reasons, most have been already said, but those dont usualy happen to wild pokemon, so the question is, How do they die? The answer, they do. There was an episode in the anime where a Noctowl, that was realy old, Died, (i think). The reason that wild pokemon die is that they can grow old, just like us. Thats how some of the spirits in MT. Pyre and Laveders tower. There also where some spirits in the Burning Tower i think... ...Not sure `bout that one though. Anyways, you dont 'SEE' Pokemon die in the show because ITS A KIDS SHOW!!! The Show was made for children to watch. Its the same thing with Tom&Jerry, shouldt Tom have died in the first episode?? having an anvil drop on your head would kill you, enless your a cartoon. Thats another reason there, its a CARTOON!. ^_^lol yeah, thats my opinion on the subject.Xiam wrote:I think the flame on the tail of Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard also show how they are, health-wise. Re: immortal pokemon??
I would imagine that typical fights don't kill the Pokémon, but they can die of old age. Except for a few rare cases like Jirachi
In an uncaring universe it is up to us to determine our own destinies.
re: immortal pokemon??
Legendary Pokemon always seem to have everlasting life. Although Lugia did reproduce in one of the episodes of Johto Journeys... ...It would be nice to see a Legendary Pokemon die... (I LOVE
Legedary Pokemon...)
