That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

"Inuyasha" means dog spirit of the forest. Takahashi-sama gave him that name because he spent 50 years pinned to a tree by an arrow in a forest. He has dog ears, not cat ears, because he is half Inu Youkai (Dog Demon) and half human. His father was Inu no Taisho, Lord of the Dogs, and his half-brother, Sesshomaru, who is a full demon, is now Lrd of the Western Lands since their father died. (They share the same father, different mothers.)

The whole well-thing is becuase Kagome Higurashi, who lives in present-day Japan got pulled into the Well by Mistress Centipede, another demon, and into Feudal Japan, where Inuyasha is. Kagome frees Inuyasha from the tree he was pinned to by his ex-priestess girlfriend (now dead. . . For now) and gets into a whole lokt of problems with him about something called the Shikon Jewel.

The Shikon no Tama — The Jewel of Four Souls— is a jewel which in the possion of a demon can grant great strenght. . . . And Kagome shatters it when trying to get it back from a demon, scattering it across all of Japan. Now Inuyasha and Kagome are on a quiest to get back those lost jewel fragments, and along the way they meet three friends, Shippo, a young fox demon out to revenge the death of his parents, Sango, out to revenge the death of her family, and Miroku, just out to save his own damn life, and get a few kids of his own on the way.

Sango carries around a giant demon bone boomerang, which she uses to slay demons. Miroku, a monk, has his staff and his Wind Tunnel in his right palm, which absorbs anything in its path. Now, this void is also going to be the death of Miroku because it is growing larger and larger, soon to consume him whole.

Naraku, the main villian in this story, who is a half-demon, though likes to think of himself as full demon, placed this cursed wind tunnel in Miroku's palm, killed Sango's family, and tricked Kikyo, Inuyasha's then-girlfriend into pinning him to a tree. Now he's out to collect all the jewel fragments, and with each one aquiered, his power grows. So now Inuyasha and company are out to slay demons and kill Naraku as well.

Did I loose you? Sorry if I did. There's some stuff I did not mention, like Inuyasha and Kagome's growing relationship, Miroku and Sango's relationship, Onigumo, and some other stuff, but that's the main plot of the story. If you want me to explain the rest, I can try, but I hope you got the main point of this. Took me a while to type! But as you can see, I'm a BIG fan of Inuyasha.

When Inuyasha was free from the tree, he wanted Kagome's shikon jewel (which gives a demon lots of power...) and then Kaede throws a necklace around him. When Kagome says "SIT!" or "Osuwari" (In Japanese? I don't remember what it was) Inuyasha sits and...yeah.

Well, the girl who pinned Inuyasha to the tree WAS dead (she was reincarnated by this old woman, I forgot who it was; Her name's Kikyo) wanted revenge on him. The evil guy named Naraku hated Inuyasha, so he dressed (dressed?) up as Inuyasha and stole the jewel with his claws out of her hands. She was wounded. Naraku also dressed up as Kikyo (...I think, some of this stuff might be incorrect) and tried to hit Kikyo with an arrow. Then the REAL Kikyo found him and pinned him to the tree with her last bit of strength.

Oh yeah, they meet three people: Sango (and Kirara/Kilala), the girl with the big boomerang, Shippo the fox demon, and Miroku, the...pervert.

Naraku, as a demon (who we later find out is a half demon), can shape-shift. So he "shifted" to look like Inuyasha, and wounded Kikyo, who was carring the Shikon no Tama at the time, but did not take the jewel. He just made Kikyo believe Inuyasha had attacked her. Inuyasha—the real one— for some reason or another now is too impatient for Kikyo to give him the jewel, so he decides to steal it for him self. (I believe maybe Kikyo told him she wasn't going to give it to him anymore, but I'm not 100% positive.) So he stole the jewel effectivly and burned down Kikyo's village while he was at it. Kikyo, now royally pissed, goes and stops Inuyasha while he was running by calling out either "Inuyasha!" or "Die, Inuyasha!" (I think it's the latter) and firing a magic arrow at him, hitting his heart and biding him to the tree.

Urasue is the one who resurected Kikyo. (Which is where Kikyo's gotten her nickname from Kikyo-haters, "Pot of Clay" because she's made out of dirt and bone.)
