My favorite book is of Saints and Shadows. Its a very graphic horror novel, so it should be right up your alley, but more importantly, it contains meaningful messages sbout human nature.

My favorite series is by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. It is about a vampire called St. Germain. Each book is set in a different time period and builds the horror around what mankind does to mankind. St. Germain, the vampire, is the good guy. Yarbro does some super research before writing about each period and many of the secondary characters are actual historical figures. She has been writing about St. Germain since the late 70's so there are something like 20 related books to date.

I also like stories based on the Arthurian Legends, like Zimmerman's The Mists of Avalon and Mary Stewart's books about Merlin (The Crystal Cave, etc) as well as more reality based historical fiction like Pennman's When Christ and His Saints Slept, a book about the war between King Stephen and Queen Maud of England in the 1130's.

I also read some biographies and straight history, particularly that relating to the middle ages and Renaissance.

I've never been to keen on reading, so that might explain my spelling issue. I'm still in the middle of a Stephen King Novel~ Gerald’s Game, I love it. it's a really good novel, but I wouldn't recommend it to younger people. It's pretty graphic, but I love the kinda things that are happening in it. 'm doing a book report on it, but I can't present it in front of the class it's just not appropriate.

I just finished reading "Jacob's Hands". An excellent book indeed, very moving.

Next:
"The ESP Affair" by Alison Tyler (don't know if I'll like it... :?)
And then,
"On The Bright Side, I Am Now The Girlfriend Of A Sex God" by Louis Rennison (suppose to be hilarious, borrowed it from a friend )

Sci-fi
I like reading Rick Shelly's Dirigent Mercenary Corp series. Read some David Drake as well, didn't like his short stories so much. Maybe I should find and read his Hammer's Slammers books.

Favorite book of all time is Robert Hienlien's Starship Troopers. The movie was a very poor attempt to bring to book to life, and it failed on several levels.

Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451
<this book is nearly impossible to put down>
And as I live, there is no evil that will stand
And I will finish, what was started

I read other comics. My favorites are Shanda the Panda, Ninja High School, Gold Digger, Katmanda, Finder, Furrlough, Knights of the Dinner Table, Dork Tower, Nodwick...

But I also read hardcovers and paperbacks. The last hardcover I read was Ira Levin's This Perfect Day. My current one is Howard Cosell's I Never Played the Game.
As for paperbacks, my last one was Tristram Shandy...and my current one is Battlestar Galactica.
I prefer conspiracy books, James Bond novels, mysteries, some classics, and whatever else catches my fancy.
