What is the Saddest Anime you have ever seen?

It'd be Now and Then, Here and There for me. It actually made me cry. Grave of the Fireflies was sad too but I didn't cry for that one.

I'll have to see those ones. Air was depressing. Everyone i know that has seen it all agree.

The saddest anime I have seen were probably Saishuu Heiki Kanojo (Saikano), Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku Hen (also known as Samurai X Trust and Betrayal)and Hotaru No Haka (Grave of the Fireflies).

Grave of the Fireflies made me cry my eyes out. It was so hard to watch at times. The buildup throughout the movie just made the end that much harder to watch. It really opened up my eyes to the horrors of war. I finally snapped out of the idea that war is glorious. I realised that horrible things are happening everyday and it's our place to do something about it, rather than sit back.

it was sad wasnt it - i've mentioned this movie quite alot.
its a great film isnt it?
wat i loved was the fact that their relationship was so pure in the face of hardship and their love for each other in such a war torn country was so sweet yet sad.
it shows the nature of people - every man for himself - which is so wrong - everyone is supposed to stick together. but they were left to fend for themselves.
i love this film!
