The controversy is whether or not the State should allow gays to marry. Marriage in the Church is a completely separate deal. Any decisions the Church makes has no effect on State legalized marriages between homosexuals.

Arguing that the Church should let gays marry as a sacrament is just stupid. It totally goes against their doctrines. If someone belongs to the Church and doesn't agree with them on the subject and wants to get married, he/she can always join a Christian denomination with similar beliefs that allow gay marriage.

Like most poeple in this thread, I think they should be allowed to. My goverment let's it, hell, we even allow homosexuals in the millitary now (we can't aford to be choosy anyways). I really could careless, I mean love is love. Yah can't wag some big foam finger at someone and say "No, you can love that..." It's just never gonan work. There is always gonna be some bit of poeple that just won't care and do it anyways. SO really, it make sno difference if yah like it or not, it's bound to happen now let's move on with our lives.

We used dishonerably discharge homosexuals... till 1996. But see now we even allow them to get married and stuff while in the miliraty, that's the newest thing for us. Unlike the states though, we don't have the church and state like conjoined twins. So we got more leniate... In cadet camps, we let the gay men in the girls barreks and vice versa. We don't see much of a threat with sex that way like we would to keep them in the same gender barreks. I mean this for poeple as younge as 12...

I didn't say it was a choice. Well, not a choice as in say, someone makes a choice to rob a bank. Usually, fetishes are something a person can't help but be compelled to. A fetish can be caused by personal preferences, as well as environment and even heredity to a certain extent. Same with being a homosexual. Chemical imbalances in the hypothalamus may cause a disorientation in sexual preference, however, environment and simply what the person likes can have just as much of an impact.

I in no way said the straight brain was superior. I'm sure this is some gay dude that could beat me at a game of chess.

How do I know being heterosexual is the norm? Because I can use a dictionary. Norm is defined as:n.
Something normal; the standard: scored close to the normal.
The usual or expected state, form, amount, or degree.
Correspondence to a norm.
An average.

Being straight is the norm because it is not only what nature intends in order for reproduction and continuation of the species, but because the vast majority of people (and animals, if I must go there) are straight. And the norm is determined by the vast majority and natural reason.

People like me always believe they are correct? What's that supposed to mean? You believe you are just as much correct as I do. That's why people debate things. That's why you are here, making a valiant and yet pathetic attempt to show me up.

I never said it was "wrong" for gays to marry. I stated why gays shouldn't be allowed to marry within the Church, being that it goes against doctrines and nobody can force them to do it. Then I said I didn't really care what the State decided. But somehow you twisted my indifference and got the notion that I sit at home and p*ss my pants with glee whenever a gay marriage proposal is shot down by the State.

And if you have better things to do than spending your time arguing with me, then why are you still here? You really should leave, considering you are losing an argument in which every other member on this forum is on your side and against mine (and gawlfwend counts as my handicap). Not so much because they are wrong in any way, but moreso that you bring up the stupidest arguments.
