How hard is Japanese to learn (FLUENTLY)?

ive been gteaching myself for two months(speaking) and the basics are easy enough, I think it would be easier if i could find a workbook to practice with though

quite easy if you live in Japan for at least six months...

Seriously, a Japanese environment would help a lot. I know someone who studied Japanese outside Japan for five years and when he went to Japan felt like he knew 0 Japanese.

Penpals, other fluent speakers, and some natural-spoken movies/TV shows in Japanese (boring but helpful things like documentaries, etc) are a huge plus for those of us who've never had the opportunity or money to go to Japan. Considering using those sources, I definitely don't feel as though I'd be lost if I suddenly got to go.

hmm.. I listen Jrock and animesongs everyday, I'm always watching anime in japanese and I watch a lot the japanese channel. And I don't have problem in understanding...and I can understand what people who speaks fluently japanese say sometimes. ^^' I hope I don't have problems when I go to Japan... XD
