I take offense to that. I am just dandy to be a stay at home mom and raise kids. I want to have kids and I look forward to raising them. And since when were there unfalsifiable rules that all women must obey to succeed at being women? Your fail comment is truly a sexist statement

I also might add that this anti-(insert title) happens whenever any book reaches the top ranks like twilight, people get mad because their favorite book didnt get the top spot then they sit around on computers complaining about how bad the books are. If you hate the books that much go do something about it, bring up relevant points and boycott the books.
Lies, most people who are cult followers prefer that their favorite author never gets mainstreamed and thus perverted. A lot of the argument against Stephanie Meyer's work is valid, she's not a good author, and is more a beneficiary of a super popular topic than anything.

Edward is more of a Marty- Stu than Bella is a Mary-sue though...

But I like The Host... and none of her characters seem mary-sueish in that! XD

Trust me... the ideas in The Host seem like they have come from a completely different person.
I suppose there would be similarities somewhere if you were someone who hated Steph, so much so that you would read every word of both books and compare them.

Lol I find it very hard to hate books... I guess there are a few I do (prime example being the Da Vinci Code - only got halfway through it)... the fact that someone has spent their time to get their words on the page and then has also managed to get it published... I guess that means something to me...

I don't know why but it just takes a lot for me to not read a book. I tend to want to finish a book before making my a solid opinion on it. I'm pretty sure any author deserves that much.

Those people actually really like it, they just act like they don't to start fights or seem cool.

No. Not at all, there is an extremely valid argument against Stephanie Meyers writing in Twilight. It's not good, it's something I would expect from someone of middle school level. It has no attachment in reality in terms of the way the characters are set up. All the lines are ham handed, the plot is sugary and unrealistic. And oh. VAMPIRES DON"T [censored] SPARKLE.

Anne Rice does a much better job in this genre. And Vonnegut does an even better job writing books. There are so many writers that are better, it's sorta says something about the culture that such a crappy writer gets so much attention because she wrote about a fad.

Can my golden scepter be a phallus? Also I get a golden scepter. No compromise.
