I don't join causes, I start them. And this one is hardly worth the effort.

to prove that twilight is not only a B-rated movie, if even that, but also that the books provide an unrealistic look at life for pre-pubescent and newly-pubescent girls. And i dont even know what to say to the 20+ women who act just like the giddy little girls.......it really is an epic fail

lol but most fiction is unrealistic hun thats why we read it. XD I think if I joined it would make me a hypocrite cause I actually liked the books. And still think of Steph as my hero. If it was the Anti-Twilight-Movie Army I'd join in an instant. XP

well, this is an anti-everything-twilight army. well, what i meant to say was that the love in twilight is unrealistic and that edward is stalking bella.....its not love....its based on looks alone. that is lust, not love. and the books are anti-feminist....edward does everything for bella and doesnt let her have any say in what happens to her

Kay then I'll join the ranks! xD

All of what you just said is somewhat debatable... but I do agree with where you are coming from with you your views on love/lust confusion. But I think Steph was trying to convey that in her mind the two go hand-in-hand. As messed up as that is. XD

Also, i just thought of one other thing. She is portraying Bella as a Mary Sue( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_sue ) and that does get a bit annoying. It also seems like that perhaps Steph is trying to live out her dreams in this series, with her pretending to be Bella.

The books are an insult. It's disgusting. Even though I'm a man, I guess I'm sort of a feminist. I hate how the heroine of the story is portrayed, how weak without Edward she was, how she was so hooked on him. It was disgusting. Edward as a character had no real depth to him, he was basically presented as an unreal character and the crowd ate that up, he's one dimensional. I look at every book as a presentation of culture, and it's sorta disgust me the way she's presented and just the overall themes of the story.

It's a terrible book, something that won't be remembered in the future. As for the movies, the only thing likable about the first one is the humor. It's full of fail, but it's not that big of a deal.

Again, I point out that Ed loves her based on her "smell", the fact he cant read her mind, and her looks, which he thinks are awesome, but are in reality, are mediocre at best....he stalks her....she doesnt do anything for herself and just accepts it. she fails at being a woman. that is all.

you realize its not supposed to be realistic right? I mean seriously anyone who reads a FICTION book about vampires and werewolves and expects it to be real and based of facts and the real world is severely unhinged.

I take offense to that. I am just dandy to be a stay at home mom and raise kids. I want to have kids and I look forward to raising them. And since when were there unfalsifiable rules that all women must obey to succeed at being women? Your fail comment is truly a sexist statement

I also might add that this anti-(insert title) happens whenever any book reaches the top ranks like twilight, people get mad because their favorite book didnt get the top spot then they sit around on computers complaining about how bad the books are. If you hate the books that much go do something about it, bring up relevant points and boycott the books.

I would like to say that I failed in explaining what I meant.

The first part of your comment, the relationship between ed and bella is too unrealistic. that is all i meant by that.

The second part of your comment, I agree with you. That comment is completely sexist. I sincerely hope that you can forgive me for that. I did not mean to come off sounding as sexist.

What I meant to say was the ed runs her life for her. It seems as if its pre-1900s. This is, of course, my personal opinion keep in mind. But the only thing i have seen her demand from ed, besides becoming a vamp, staying together, and sex((the 3 most common things anyone would ask for in bellas position, myself included(if i were a woman(i am a guy))), is nothing. She lets ed run her life. I'm not saying that its a bad thing, but she needs to have more say about what happens in her life.

As a side note:
i cant think of the last time i actually read an actual book. The only books i have been reading have been manga. the last actual book i read for fun was about 4-5 years ago. My opinion on actual books is that none of them should be made into movies what-so-ever, weather I like them or not.

And here are some(not many though) relevant points:
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm21 ... witard.jpg

Another side note:
As I realize that I'm a guy, and that I couldnt get into the series, my opinions are of course going to be different from that of a guy who likes the books, and from that of women who do/do not like the books. I realize that my opinion of the books are probably just typical guy opinions, and if they are please feel free to point that out and I will gladly shut up, request that this thread be shut down by the appropriate mod, and change my signature so that the Anti-twilight army will stop growing.((no sarcasm.....i actually mean it))
