You can use the subtitles though.TurnA wrote:I found Initial D (all stages) for sale for a very low price. I'm thinking about ordering it. What is it though? I know its about cars, but is it humorous like GTO, or is it action packed?

I like some dubbing, if it's good. But the dubs in Initial D are horrible, just listen to it in Japanese, even if you buy it off the shelf.

I've had some VERY bad experiences with dubs, so even if the dubs are good, they tend to send a chill up my spine. anyways, I found out that the guy wasn't selling DVDs, but pirated VCDs. I'm probably going to get it if they have good subtitle though, if not... I'll look for the DVD copy of Initial D

If you do, listen to my advice. Do not, I repeat, do not get use the 'Tricked out' version of Initial D when you buy the anime, from the menu that pops up, go with the original style. Also, skip the credits, the music video that plays for it is a bit creepy..

In the manga thats volume 18. I dont got it but i have the 17 and it said it on the previews.Baka-Tenshi wrote:Buy them now! Seriously, you won't regret it. It's very good, very realistic. It shows several actual driving techniques, and it's about street racing. I have stage 4 on a burned cd that my brother got from the internet. It's about:

You didnt like the music right. Well it gets a little boring hearing it over and over. They never change the music(English Vesion). I always skip it so that we can lisen to the japanise music later.Baka-Tenshi wrote:If you do, listen to my advice. Yeah, I like the Japanese music way better then the rap they play in the english version. Bunta in the dub sounds really cool though.
Also, yeah that's already stage 4, vol 18 of the manga. But the DVDs that my bro go farther then when the,
show up. It's really great. ^_^ I won't blow it for you further, but you'll really like the graphics in stage four.

It's ok, it makes it more worth it the longer the wait. And since we've basically done talking about stage 4, let's talk more about Initial D and what makes it so cool.
So tell me, what got you into Initial D?

re: Initial D
Well, lets start from the beginning: My brother saw the arcade game in a local mall, and then he was hooked, but didn't know what was all about. Later he found out of some books (the first 3 vol) that was about Initial D and bought them. Then he discovered what was Initial D and what was manga. Since I was curious, my brother lend them to me. I started reading them and also got hooked, but I started to play the game after a few more mangas, because I wanted to know it a little more about it.
Why were you hooked?

re: Initial D
Hmm, well surprisingly, my older brother got me into it as well. He is a actual racer, not pro though, and he had found the anime foriegn box set I was talking about. Now, I was already kinda into cars, but not so much... until I watched Initial D that is! Man, the box set went all the way from the beginning to the start of Project D. I loved it from that point on, and became a bigger fan of both real cars, and Initial D. After that, I found the arcade game, and played it a lot. It was really fun.
My favorite characters are Takumi and Ryousuke, how about you?

Wow that cool. My favorite characters are Keisuke Takahashi, Ryosuke Takahashi, Takumi Fugiwara and Mako Sato. But the one that i like the most is Keisuke.
Witch character do you relate to?
Im mostly like Mako.Im sincere, soft-spoken, shy, fast, kind, boyfriend less, dont know much about mechanical stuff, and is able to change into a different person.

Well...it's embarassing to say... but I think I'm a whole lot like Itsuki. We're good hearted, silly, hyper more then we should be, and we both dream of becoming one of the greatest racers ever. Also, I also relate to Ryousuke when I'm alone, quite, deep-thinking, and smart.
