Thanks for the kind words (too kind I'd say... since it's an -ok- poem  ) Betty and Emissary of Despair  ! It's really not that good..

Weeeell, I'm 18. But I think I was about 16-17 when I wrote it..I think.

I know I sound immature... but hey! I love being immature! It's so freakin' fun!

How old did you guys think I was 8) ?

Ha!! I found my friends poem!! (took me long enough)
This is a REALLY long poem, I don't even know if it'll fit...I hope so, but I really like it, and it's full of big ole words...I really want comments on this to relay back to him...

Waiting Room

Sitting and waiting in the pale walled chamber
Time sticking and holding itself in place
While lights many glow in my eyes amber
The seeming portrait of caring and grace

Families watching, talking in the alabaster room
Each the day a not wanted occurrence
Slow ticking hands and winding conversations may prove doom
Yet the bright walls made to give assurance

Behind the smiles of the people waiting, praying
The small bit of doubt flickers, manifests
Of loved ones in pallor sheets laying
Operations and ghastly robed men to be the test

And as the television is playing, resounding
Does the quiet gnaw and tear
Whispers of forgotten gifts of breath hounding
Of fates and destinies to be shared

In the soft echoes does it sound, yes sound!
Flickering embers of surety’s flame
And ever so subtly does the melodic silence beat and pound
Now leaving me the beggar lame

Harmonic tunes of runic rhymes
Do they scream and shout
Toiling away forever until the end times
Shaking, breaking ivories throughout

Listen as the teeth grind and chatter
As the hands flick away beads of anxiety’s proof
Their banner doth tear and tatter
Now let all claim to be aloof

Can you hear it as it stings, sings!
Does not the searing, fearing jab and punctures the pleasant mood
Your smiles and jests leaving on swift wings
While on fate do you brood

On its down spiral is pours
Raindrops of molten lead upon burning skin
Drowning, sinking under hot liquid weight to abhor
While prophets and preachers do resolve you of sin

Hark does Mestopheles call you now
Does his monarch voice hot from Hell not burn, scorch
Are you for his harrowing plow
Or to only carry the rites torch

In the still does it rise up like a damned choir
Proclaiming, rejoicing to your chained inner seraph
Immolation by holy hellfire
With horned jester pointing, laughing

So saints and sinner sit and mingle
While washed walls do speak volumes
Am I alone here alone and single
Does not the colorless paper make a crimson tome

And if so does not the pages
Bind crooked grins in fabled lies
So they will deceive for ages and ages
As they shine in naïve eyes

To know the colors behind the face
Vermilion sighs, echoes in the hidden caverns
As masked beauty doth white hide in this place
Even if this be gods own tavern

So let you ponder, wonder
If this place be truly hallow
As creeping, seeping does doubt make you sink under
The cold words and fake smiles chill to marrow

And on the floor would you lay praying, baying
Dogs and carrion beasts howling to an non answering lunar light
Your cheerful disposition should be fading
Does the moon’s silver glow still shine bright

Look as it fades, grays
Like down fluffed to a soften
Pale brilliance from walls reflection does not show the way
Even if the thought occur to you often

Can you see how your fey? As is decays
Red glowing letters at the door
Shows for you the predetermined way
As you sulk, skulk across the carpeted floor

Now becoming more fleeting, wavering
The sweet now bitter on your tongue
Sour regression now savoring
As it all collapses from its top rung

Boiling, toiling in insurmountable stress
Dredges, derricks, and axes to grind
Under false sigil do you feel blessed
Tapestries, quilts, fabrics to unwind

In the final snuff does it die, fly
The ruddy drops pouring, streaming from the harbor’s shore
In broken silence do you now outwardly cry
Waiting room’s aegis walls only now counterfeit lore

Wow!
That took me a long time to read.
I enjoyed the poem although I think this guy (with his obvious talent) could improve it alot.
Some of the lines are a bit too long, and some move along too fast. So we are being bombarded with lots of ideas and moving along before we can have time to think of what has been said properly.
But overall its a good job :P

Here's my poem...

Immortal ~

Immortal tears, ageless face.
Timeless soul, unyielding grace.

Yet merciless eyes, a clouded mind.
A being lost amongst the sands of time.

I've watched the world for all these years,
Time has frozen my lost tears.

Once clear, now a shrouded soul...
Eternity has taken its toll.

I saw the truth, under your lies,
I felt pity through your despise.

I was shaken by your hate, hurt by what I saw,
Yet still you faded away, as did they all.

But you stand around me, bound by hate.
To walk these lands forever more, that is my fate.

Because of that wish, my fear, my greed,
I'll never be freed.

Immortality, it means nothing to me.
A barran world surrounded by the blackest sea.

Icy tears, weary face.
Blackened soul, dying grace...

*Bows* Thank you, thank you! Comments would be appreciated.

Oooh.

I have goosebumps after reading that.

I read a lot of poetry and I dont often get goosebumps unless they are special.

You sould enter the Eisteddfod, maby they would give you the Chair.

Id love to win the Chair some time. But I doubt I would ever be good enough...

Um, okay...
Anyways, I didn't write this poem, so it's nameless, but I really like this so I thought I'd put it up. It's from a video game called Baten Kaitos.
"Cast light upon the darkened Earth,
Save those lost in despair,
O' Mighty Ocean, guide us as we journey through,
The darkest pit of night...
May time, ever fleeting,
Forgive us, we who forsaken our song,
And buried our future...
Fare thee well, my children...
Rest in my heart...
Forever..."
