Ok fine... I knew this. Yes, I knew they would be changing the voice actors. But come on!

They 'killed' it! The new people have no life in them. I don't even find Gojyo and Goku fighting as delightful as it used to be. Sanzo is dreadful and don't EVEN ask how f**ked up Hakkai's voice is! How dare they! Sure, tell me it's JUST voice changes. You don't get it. I wrote snail mail to Geneon after I got email from Greg Ayres(Goku) telling me they weren't even asked to do it.. none were.

I can't even see straight I am so pissed off!!!!

I could only watch 2 episodes before switching to subbed. I could cry! I think I did.

Thing is.... I will buy the entire series, of course. But they offer it on ebay at a really cheap price,(subbed only) and if I just can not handle the dubbed... what the hell not buy it. I'm going to look there now.

You know, I was so shocked by the different voices, I didn't even notice the hair color change. Yeah, I believe it's not as red... but this is the same studio that has done Saiyuki since day one. The clothes are different, none of those changes bother me... that doesn't change the character like the voice can.

Like I said, it's been murdered! I don't think I'll get the English version...example here;

See? You can get BOTH for the cost of 2 bought here at like Suncoast. No English voices, but what the hell... I'm not happy with them so why not?

Hate to say this.... it is NOT Goyjo. Not even close to his banter, dry wit, humor...I don't even recall any kind of remark that would be 'classic Goyjo'. Now that's just sad!!!

The ADV version of the original was one of the best ever (I've noticed ADV does some of the best dubbing around) Not watching another episode in English.

Wish I could get a fan sub of the original Japanese and cut Geneon out of the loop all together. B*****ds.

Sonzo is wooden and stilted in his delivery, Hakkai's voice is too effeminate, Goyjo's voice is blah and stilted and Goku ..... well Goku just isn't right without Greg's raspy voice.

The translated script was also sub par. It lacked the witty repartee' of the ADV script ...... not that the actors could have handled it.

The first person to shoot is the casting director. What were they thinking? I've heard better line delivery from high school drama students and community theatre. Someone want to tell me how these people got SSAG* cards. They got paid scale for ruining Saiyukie!
