Negima! Magister Negi Magi

This is Ken AKumatsu's latest work after taking a break after his successful manga 'Love Hina: (Which I am a big fan of ). Who likes this manga?

Well the manga has gotten popular enough to get an anime series, but I wonder. Considering the way the manga is how much can they do? Even in Japan the anime isn't as... how should I say it? explicit as the mangas are.

I find myself addicted to Ken Akamatsu's work.

Another Akumatsu fan, that's great! The Negima anime is still in Japan but it should be here soon! (Well, last time I heard...)
There will probably be some parts that will differ from the manga, but hopefully they will try to stay true..... unlike the Love Hina anime. It was good but I did not like that they didn't show the MolMol saga, and the voice actors for Keitaro, Motoko, Kitsune, and Su were not so great...

I've never seen an anime that followed the manga exactly, I'd guess that is why some say that the manga is always better. It's more or less true. The manga come first before the anime.

A lot of the people I've met say that you should watch the anime first, then read the manga. I did the opposite, but I still enjoyed it.

Well anyway back on topic, what do you really like about Negima?

That he's a better version of Harry Potter. Surrounded by cute girls, Harry Potter doesn't have it this good.

Oh yeah there is that! The spells are also a whole lot cooler, and you can't forget the girls. ^_^ Who's you're favorite girl anyway? Mine is Nodoka.

[Duuz]

I haven't picked favorite yet, I think it's clear that Asuna is going to be Negi's... well main partner. She's also the one that seems to end up with her cloths ripped off of her the most so far. Which puts her in the lead.

I do like the Narutaki twins, although they look way to underage for me. Oh wait, they're all underage for me. This kind of stuff could cause a lolita complex if one is not careful.

A lolita complex huh? Hehe.

Yeah it really seems that Asuna is going to Negi's partner, but I wish it was the ninja girl or Nodoka.

[Duuz]

Nodoka isn't the ninja girl, she's the Librarian. Kaede Nagase and Setsuna Sakurazaki are the ninja girls, well they have ninja like abilities.

I have to refer to the class picture from time to time to remember who these girls are some times.

I said either the ninja girl (Keade) or Nodoka. ^_^ Well anyway, it does take some time to remember most of the names. I probably only know the names of less then half of the class.

I wonder, is Akamatsu really going to have a pairing up of Negi with every girl in the class just to see how it works out?

Yes, I think he will. Every book he brings one of the girls and puts them into the plot, but in the end It's kinda obvious he'll end up with Asuna.

Then this series might go on for longer than Love Hina did, not that I'm complaining. Although I wonder how the anime will work. The Love Hina anime came up a little short when they tried to fit it all into a 26 episode series, and ended haveing to finish it with the christmas and spring specials and Love Hina Again.

How many episodes in the Negima series planned to run? 26?

I don't know, maybe around 50 or 60, but I may be getting my hopes too high...

Series that go up to 50 or more are rare. Akamatsu doesn't seem to write his series to that they'd run that long, but it would be something new for him.

The down side is there are fans that stay away from long series, they don't want to make a commitment to them. After all it seems there are so few of Urusei Yatsura fans around these days.

Well here's to hopeing Negima gets a long run.
