Question about the avatar url thingy-mah-jigs

Mmmkay, I'm not super smart when it comes to .gif and stuff like that, and I'm not going to try to be.

But I was wondering why wont aa allow JPEG urls?? Well, most of them. I know it will let you use gif and thats all I know. But I had this real sweet Cheese Louise avatar that was a JPEG url and it worked, but I want a different avatar thats a JPEG and it says its invalid or something.

Care to explain what that means and why?? And is there a way to change it to a gif url?

JPEGs are allowed, so if it's saying the image is invalid then there's probably something wrong with it. Can you provide the URL to the image so I can take a look at it?

Those were the only ones I've really tried. When I did try them they were jpeg...but now they're jpg(is there even a difference?). But still, they wont work for me.

Okay, I found out why it isn't working. There is a 100 character limit for the URL, and those are slightly longer than 100 characters so the end of the URL gets cut off. I tried changing the character limit in the PHP code, but it was still getting cut off, so I assume it's a limitation in the database.
