Re: is it different?
Samurai X is the name under which the RK OVAs Tsuiokuhen, Seisouhen and the movie Isshin Shishi no Requiem are marketed in North America. The anime series is also known as Samurai X in several countries.
The OVAs and the anime are both based on the manga Rurouni Kenshin, written by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The movie is just based on the anime and has no connection to the series.
The OVAs are very different in style and feel from the anime because they were made by a different animation studio and the director wanted to go for a darker tone than in the series.

It depends in what country you are. In many countries throughout the world, all the animated forms of Rurouni Kenshin are called Samurai X. In North America, the TV series is called Rurouni Kenshin while the OVAs and motion picture are called Samurai X.

Re: is it different?
WRONG!!! Samurai X talks only about his past. all of his past. the real truth and what happen to his Wife, How'd he get the scar. And alot of other things. Also. There is a second part of samurai X. But that talks about him right now. with yahiko and his son kenji. If you watch it. ( and if some of you have) you will see kenshin's death along with karous. Rurouni kenshin takes place in the manga. some are fillers cause some aren't from the manga. so in other words it's not the same cause of the differnt times
"Yet, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed...
Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end.
It matters not who you are...Death awaits you."

The Rurouni Kenshin TV series is called Samurai X in several countries. I know this because I have chatted with RK fans from around the world.
The OVA that deals with his past is Tsuiokuhen/Trust and Betrayal. The OVA that claims to deal with his future is Seisouhen/Reflections.

Re: is it different?
In Australia the series is just Rurouni Kenshin and the OVAs are Samurai X. Maybe in some countries there are some differences but I'd say this way is the most common.
And Seiji Sawamura I think you should be aware that spoilers don't go down too well on these forums as it is often that not everyone has seen the OVAs.
