Devil May Cry
Okay so here you can talk about your fav Devil May Cry game and any stratagies you have for it. My fav is Devil May Cry 3 because Dante is different looking and acting in it. I haven't really played DMC4 but I hope to soon.

Re: Devil May Cry
I really nevermade it through DMC 1 or 2 so I don't reallty know how they end. But I have made it through DMC 3 and that would explain why the shop is named Devil May Cry. I also like the song that plays through out the game, Devils Never Cry.

Re: Devil May Cry
That's actually surprising considering that most people didn't finish DMC 3 because the easy difficulty was boosted so much that DMC 3 easy equaled DMC 1&2 hard (Dante must die difficulty). The upped difficulty turned off most gamers.
I'm glad to find another person who loved DMC 3 so much like me
DMC 4 is pretty cool, you start off as Neiro, and you work your way through the game once you've done that Dante has to go back and kill all the bosses Neiro left barely alive. Then at the end we learn that Neiro is also Dantes brother which pretty much guarantees the series to continue.

I said half brother in case you cant read, meaning different mother.
If a person has Sparda blood in them they are half brother to Dante and Virgil

Re: Devil May Cry
(his blood relation to Sparda is all you need to show family relation to Dante and Virgil.)
here is what most people over here believe: Nero is the son of Virgil, I think it's very possible but I also will entertain the thought of them just being brothers as well.
1. The color scheme related to Dante has always had red as his dominate color, where as Virgil has always be shown in the color blue... both as Virgil and as Nero Angero. Then of coarse you see that Nero even though he has red in his outfit he is still represented in all aspects in the game by the majority color blue.
2. The sword Yamato reacts strongly to nero's demonic arm and becomes one with it (this absolutely shocks Dante, as he is under the notion that only Virgil could). And when this happened I had the notion that ok if Virgil were to have a son then he would of coarse mate with a full bread human because this seems to be the trend of sparda. So virgil's offspring would then be half human and half demon just like Nero... and the demonic arm that nero has is the demon side of him and as I said earlier is the reason Virgil's sword Yamato reacts so strongly to it.
3. Similarities in appearance is also a big faction in the game. It is impossible to look at nero and not think that he looks just like dante/virgil. This idea is what throws out my other theory which is that nero is just some random good demon that Dante feels apathy for. Because in all seriousness why would Capcom make Nero look like Sparda's son without having some sort of relation.
4. Here is a quick one Nero Angero is virgil's demon name and Nero is the main character in DMC4. Snap coincidence? I don't think it is.
5. The question then becomes with all these similarities why would Capcom chose not to state this idea in the game? Wouldn't it make the game better if they just let the player find out at the end that Nero is the son of Virgil? Here is my answer to that... do you remember DMC1 and the appearance of Nero Angero in the last battle that Dante and Nero Angero have? Nero Angero shows his true face which is Virgil. Now even though we know that Nero Angero's real name is Virgil we do not find out (for sure) that Virgil is Dante's brother until DMC3... So in a sense Capcom has a way of holding on to secret plot twists in the DMC series. And that Nero being the son of Virgil would be no different.

nero didn't always have the arm, so until they tell us the story about that it doesn't prove anything

how would virgil have a son when he's dead or when he's nelo, who is possessed?

Re: Devil May Cry
In DMC3 they didn't say that Virgil died. Yes, he did fall of the cliff/waterfall but whose to say he didn't catch himself by sticking his sword into the side of the waterfall? Also think of this, when in his demon form Dante can jump or fly most of the time, whose to say Virgil can't fly? That's my theroy on the subject, I can't really have a clear one until I play DMC4 but they need to come out with it for the PS2.

Re: Devil May Cry
ok, i hafta mark this one.
and dont expect DMC4 on PS2. it is a good game though, for a Hack'n'Slash, that is.
Spoiler
Show
Virgil didn't die per sé. If you pay close attention to DMC the first, when you beat that thing in the armour, he drops an item, and it's description states that it is from Dante's brother.

Re: Devil May Cry
Okay, Hardcore fan here, I own the first, second, and fourth games. =)
It never states that Nero is related to Dante, in fact, the speculation brought about by this is meant to be able to continue the series with a fifth game.* So when that's released, everyone will have the definate answer.
Nero has not had the Devil Bringer all his life, it was something he didn't even want.
**No one knows for sure if Virgil is really dead. He never made an appearance in two, and from what I've played of four has no real appearance there, but its possible he could show up in future games.
And Aoi, the second point you raise is highly unlikely. Virgil hates humans, period.
Also, the fourth point you bring up is also a bit off. Virgil's demon name in the first one is Neo Angelo. Not Nero. And on the off chance that Americans messed up the translation, you also have to look at the origins of the names used for characters. Dante, Virgil, and Nero are all of Olden European decent.
And the last thing I'd like to raise is the thing with Lady and Trish. In the third game it was Lady who coined the name for Dante's place (Devil May Cry), and in the first one, it was Trish's idea to change it to Devil Never Cry. Or something along those lines.
*This information was obtained from a web article I found when surfing for data about Nero's origins or possible relations to Dante
**I read this bit in my Game Informer magazine back when they were doing articles before the game was released.
