Well... I have my laptop, MacBookPro... but I'm getting a new room(basically just remodeling the guest bedroom and making my old bedroom the new guest room)... but my dad says that I can get a new Desktop computer, since my mom won't let me have a TV(since she things its a distraction for me....)
But, what do you guys think of this computer? Its the HP Touchsmart, with a touchscreen monitor. I think there are a few models, but here is the site:

Do you guys think this would be a good desktop, or does anyone have any other options that I should look into? My dad has a Dell XPS 720(the best Dell desktop they make so far). And I don't want a Mac since I will still be using my laptop which is a Mac. Oh, and I want Vista.

I personally didn't really like vista at all. The laptop made it like 5 months until it needed a new hard drive.
I use them for work more than anything, so I need one that can go for hours without deciding it doesnt want to work anymore and I lose everything.
And the touch screen seems like a good personal computer. If you want one for more business approach for working- I would personally go for something different.

I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a tombstone.

It just seems like a way to charge extra money for a feature that isn't needed, and specs that are average at best by today's standards :/

The novelty of that HP might wear off quite quick. I would recommend you a PC but I am not sure what you want from it, games? Word processing?

It seems too bothersome to navigate right now for a general use desktop. Vista wasn't designed to be used with a touch screen, anyway.. You'd probably end up only using it for the pre-installed HP bloatware.

Stop being ridiculous, it is sometimes cheaper and more efficient if you just spend the time and money to build your own Machine. This is a great idea because you do not get all that bs add ware that you get with name brands like dell and piece of shiet gateway.
