I can't say I'm a big RE fan.

I am however in love with gears of war 1 and 2 :p

Umm, Aim. Shoot, repeat until their head explodes or they fall to the ground and melt away. Pretty simple really, and its a horror survival game, the name of the game sunshine. =-]

I Love it.

I didn't get into those, but I'll probably help my bf practice in it for co-op with his friend (who sucks pretty hard at all shooters).

The Resident Evil series is fantastic. If you didn't like the first ones still give Resident Evil 4 a go because it is a very different style of game. I am yet to play number 5, but it looks great. As Resident Evil 4 is one of my very favorite games, I will be very sad if I give number 5 a miss. I need Xbox damn it

I'm not really that into RE games they aren't very good in my opinion. Although my opinion could be that way because the games just aren't very popular here.

And according to the Famitsu top 100 favorite games only Resident Evil 1 is good enough to break the top 50. (RE1 is #33)

here read this.

Yesterday, Capcom announced the upcoming DLC scheduled for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 of Resident Evil 5. Just as we expected, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker are going to be playable. More screens can be found below, but to elaborate more on the Versus mode, it's actually split into two game types, both of which can be played as one-on-one or two-versus-two:

* Slayer - kill as much Manji as you can within the time limit, person/team with the highest kills wins
* Survivor - battle against other characters, person/team last standing wins

Meanwhile, people have been lashing out at Capcom for charging for the DLC (US$ 4.99 on PSN, 400 MS Points on XBL). People speaking against the DLC charges have played their "why do you want us to pay for content that's already on the disc" card. Capcom, on the other hand, defends their stand on the matter:

Although Versus mode makes use of the assets that exist in the game, the functionality is not currently in the game and is above and beyond the initial scope of Resident Evil 5. We have never included a Versus mode in Resident Evil before, and as well as the costs of development of the feature, there's also additional bandwidth costs associated with it.

It may be worth mentioning that one of the reasons why people think the Versus mode is on-disc content is because of some evidence found in the Trophies list. Apparently, ten Trophies are unlocked via Versus-Slayer and Versus-Survivor mode, so hearing Capcom say that the Versus mode wasn't part of the initial scope seems quite odd.

And yes, the DLC (which actually sounds more of a patch now) doesn't add anything new like characters or weapons - it just adds functionality for the Versus mode, which uses already existing objects and assets from the disc.

Simple and short. you can play verse mode with your friends now but you have to buy it. $5
also read this about the racism in the game. that everyone has been fighting about.

Question of racism:
Resident Evil 5's 2007 E3 trailer was questioned for its depiction of a white protagonist killing black zombies in an African village. Newsweek editor N'Gai Croal began the criticism, stating, "There was a lot of imagery in that trailer that dovetailed with classic racist imagery." He acknowledged that only the preview had been released.[45][46]

The second trailer for the game, released on May 31, 2008, revealed a more racially diverse group of enemies, as well as Sheva, an African agent[47] who assists the protagonist.[48] However, designer Jun Takeuchi denied that complaints about racism had any effect in altering the design of Resident Evil 5.[49] Takeuchi commented that the game's producers were surprised by the controversy.[50] In an interview with MTV, he explained that Capcom's staff is racially diverse, and acknowledged that various cultures may have had different opinions on the trailer.[50][51] In an interview with Computer and Video Games, producer Masachika Kawata also commented on the issue, stating, "We can't please everyone. We're in the entertainment business - we're not here to state our political opinion or anything like that. It's unfortunate that some people felt that way."[52][53]

In Eurogamer's February 2009 preview of Resident Evil 5, Dan Whitehead expressed concerns about the controversy the game may generate, stating that "it plays so blatantly into the old clichés of the dangerous 'dark continent' and the primitive lust of its inhabitants that you'd swear the game was written in the 1920s" and "there are even more outrageous and outdated images to be found later in the game, stuff that I was honestly surprised to see in 2009." The article also states that the addition of the light-skinned Sheva "compounds the problem rather than easing it."[54]

Glenn Bowman, Senior Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Kent, Canterbury,[55] has stated that he does not believe Resident Evil 5 is racist. Bowman added that the game presents an anti-colonial theme.[56]

One particular scene in the game, said to show black men dragging off a screaming white woman,[54] was submitted for evaluation to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), which deemed it not to be racist. Sue Clark, Head of Communications at the BBFC, stated, "We do take racism very seriously, but in this case there is no issue around racism.
