ok maybe its just me but it seems that every mamodo's book color is the same as them or the element they control...but zatch's book is red and he is not red nor does he control fire, he is a lightning mamodo.....so why is the book red?

I emailed the creator of Zatch Bell and they told me that the color Red symbolizes the color of an emporer that they had whose favorite color was indeed red. That means that Zatch is destined for the Mamodo King. Now, who saw that coming...

There isn't just one element for each mamodo. In the later episodes, there is another who has Zatch's powers named Zeon. He also posess Zatch's memories of the mamodo world and looks alot like him, but he hates Zatch more than anything.

I don't think the book colors really reflect the mamodo;s poweres. Kyanchrom's book was yellow, yet her was a shape shifter. Fein's book was a light purple, yet he was a speed mamodo. Kolulu was a power mamodo, but her book was pink. Zeon (above) is also with lightning, but his book is white. So I don't think it matters much.
