Posting updates of my shop... is it really that bad?

Post by PowerAnime »

hmmmmm... ok... looks like my last post got shot down being that it was 'blatant advertising'...
I don't see why not since I didn't see anything in the BASIC FORUM GUIDELINES saying I couldn't in your Q&A Section

i'm really just a small fry trying to help bring cool anime stuff from japan. Is it really that bad that I want to offer cool stuff from Japan to real fans?

Its rather dishearting to see anime fans hate on other anime fans/shops. Seriously, how many anime shops bomb this place with advertising anyway? Maybe you can create a section for us!

So, no 'blatant advertising' eh? You're probably going to red-flag me for this, but hey, how bout I just log in as an anonomous user and simply say 'Look at all the great stuff I got at THIS website http:....' Would this be more appropriate to this forum if I simply lied about who i was and said I was just a fan? If this is allowed, then you've probably been a victim of viral marketing since this site began. Sounds like a crack in the system to me.... but hey, you tell me...

It's great that your trying to spread the goodwill of anime, but sources from where people can buy anime is already found on the http://www.absoluteanime.com/links.html area. And if you were just to post anonymously, we most likely will report it and then have it removed.
I'm a facebook whore.

You can advertise your site once you've participated in the forums a little bit, I just don't want people signing up for the sole purpose of advertising their site. Typically these people sign up, post their solicitation, and are never heard from again.

Guests are not allowed to post URLs. I added code to automatically detect them, so you should get a warning if you were to try. And if you were able to get away with posting a URL as a guest, a moderator would likely just come along and edit it out.

If your online anime store offers something that the others don't, let me know and I may be able to add it to the list of stores.
