There are several translations of the phrase 'Tenchi Muyo'. In the series, it means, 'being of heaven and earth'. And in another translation, it means, 'this side up'.

I'm Asian! I speak Cantonese. ^_^ 'Nay Ho Ma?' means 'How are you?' in Cantonese! I also know Mandarin too since I'm learning it at school. I also know a bit of Japanese and Korean as well.
Anyway, Tenchi Muyo, or 天 地 無 用, is like, "Tenchi No Use". 'Ten' 天 is sky, 'Chi' 地 is earth/ground, 'Mu' 無 is like a negative word, and 'Yo' 用 is use. Basically, it means that Tenchi is a wimp, and he's no use. lol In Cantonese, 'Tenchi Muyo' is pronounced, 'Ting Day Mo Yong'. XD
I'm not a fan of Tenchi. I like the other characters better. ^_^

Tenchi was sometimes useful but not all the time. The only time he was dependable was to get himself and others out of tough and tight situations.
Anime is a way of life. But so is Reality and it hits harder.
