re: Can someone explain....
Heres both:
Anime:
In present day England, a war is being fought. The average citizen does not notice, but vampires are running rampant among the populace, and it's up to the Hellsing organization to contain the bloodsucker threat, using even their own weapons against them. Alucard, a vampire himself, is the best agent the organization has to offer, answering only to Integra Hellsing herself. No one knows much about this mysterious figure fighting against the occult, but things starts to change after he “recruits” a new agent to the establishment...
Manga:
There's a secret organization somewhere in England created to defend the Queen and country from monsters of all sorts. Yes, it's hard to believe in this day and age....but really, isn't this the true age of monsters? Enter Hellsing, an agency, long in tooth, with the experience, know-how, and...er...equipment to handle the problems that arise when vampires, ghouls take on these dark forces. "What equipment?" you may say. How about another vampire, and a big pistol loaded with special silver bullets? That oughta do the trick.
Thats only the summary for the first manga. The difference between the anime and manga is that the anime replaces a lot of the characters, although they got the voices perfect in the dubbed version, and they add a lot of side stories. There are still parts of the manga that are shown in there but all but the Jan episode are changed around. Id recomend the manga.
If you want more about the manga, go to http://www.darkhorse.com and search Hellsing then go down past the merchandise and to the manga. They have actual previews of the real manga (in english) and summaries to go with them.
Its always good to have a new Hellsing fan ^_^

re: Can someone explain....
yah, the werewolf thing is a misspelling on Darkhorses part, it is suposed to be "werwolf" which was a German Battalion trained in guerrilla tactics in-case of the Allies occupying Germany. since I just joined I can't post links yet(eeerrhh) but look up "werwolf" on Wiki
