One other similarity that i've realized:
There is a guy (in RahXephon) that shows up like a tourist (can't remember his name now), using a hat, jacket over his shoulder, 3-day old beard, yapping all over the place, taking pictures, but he knows everyone important (like commander Jin Kurugi) and seems to know more than he gives away...
In Evangelion, the equivalent character is Kaji: 3-day old beard, scruffy hair in a pony-tail, the knot on his tie is always open, jacket over his shoulder, just like a tourist... but he's moving behind the stage, doing something...
As you said, and for what i've seen, RahXephon can stand on his own.
I like the soundtrack too. It is very good.
I have the option of viewing the eps in Japanese or English, since I have the two audio tracks to choose from. I've seen a little of the 1st ep in Eng, it is good dub indeed, but to me it doesn't feel right. It's strange, but i only like them in Jap.
There is something in the Japanese language (a characteristic sound, a pitch...) that no other language can reproduce. So, to me, non-Jap is just weird, and i find myself not liking any other language...
it seems like they are missing something... oh, well... it may be nitpicking, but it's what i think... or better: not what i think, what i feel.
As for the review, it will be a couple of weeks until I finish all the eps. But i'll definitely write one.
