Character Description: Nina Purpleton
Nina is a Mobile Suit systems engineer working for Anaheim Electronics. She was the one who designed the Gundams GP01 (later upgraded to GP01A-FB), GP02A, and GP03. She comes to the Earth Federation base at Torrington, Australia, to pick up the GP01 And GP02 (which was armed with a nuke) aboard the carrier Albion. On the base, she meets ensign Kou Uraki, a young test pilot, and his best friend, ensign Chuck Keith.
After a rocky start, Kou and Nina's relationship grows, and by episode seven, he tells her that he wants her to be with him. In episode 10, they kiss. Finally, at the end of the series, after Kou is exhonorated for his part in the theft of the GP03, he meets up with Keith, Mora, and Nina once again. Nina had previously dated Zeon ace pilot Anavel Gato, (aka "The Nightmare Of Solomon"). This plagues Nina throughout the series, as she is torn between her love for Kou, and her few remaining feelings towards Gato.
