Character Profile: Tōru Oikawa

Oikawa Tooru is not a genius, he simply isn't. Nevertheless, he still puts an incredible amount of effort into volleyball, specifically, his sets and serves. Oikawa works extraordinarily hard on his sets and serves, because he strives to be the best setter and pinch server. Because Oikawa is not a genius, he holds a grudge against Tobio Kageyama, a genius setter. To his advantage, Oikawa has the incredible ability to be able to use anyone on his team, no matter what team. Oikawa is extremely intelligent, cunning, and flirtatious. He still has a deep feeling of inferiority towards geniuses, those higher than him, this is shown in how he pushes himself so hard. His notorious "worthless pride" is a main reason why he pushes himself so hard, and why geniuses bother him so much.
