Character Description: Masahiro
Abe no Masahiro is the thirteen-year-old grandson of the great onmyouji Abe no Seimei. He gets really agitated when people call him grandson and is determined to surpass his grandfather as the greatest onmyouji. There's one little problem though, Masahiro has lost his sixth sense and his ability to see spirits.
Then one day, a demon falls out of a tree in front of Masahiro. He is thrilled that he can see, thinking perhaps that his second sight has returned. But nope, he was only able to see the demon, which he called a mononoke and later named Mokkun. Mokkun said that Masahiro could only see him with his pitifully limited second sight because he was a very old and very powerful spirit too.
Later, he is sent on a mission by his grandfather to defeat a demon that has been a menace to the villager. Despite his poor second sight Masahiro goes after the demon, using Mokkun as his eyes. During the battle with the demon, Masahiro's sight returns to him, and he starts on the road to become the greatest onmyouji.
