Anime Profile: Starship Troopers: Invasion

The fourth film in the "Starship Troopers" film series – and the first made in Japan and directed by Shinji Aramaki – this CGI movie continues the saga of an authoritarian Earth government's battle against a hostile alien race known as the Arachnids.

Somewhere in space, a distant outpost has come under attack by the Arachnids, also known as Bugs, and a special team of the Mobile Infantry is sent to eliminate the infestation, as well as take off survivors. During the rescue and evacuation, the base's leader, Maj. Harry "Hero" Varro, has been taken into custody for insubordination by Gen. Dr. Carl Jenkins – with Jenkins taking command of the ship of his friend Carmine Ibanez, the John A. Warden, promptly throwing Ibanez off her ship and disappearing, for what reasons has been deemed classified.

Now the John A. Warden's disappearance has caught the attention of legendary trooper Gen. Johnny Rico, friend of Carmine and Jenkins, and the rescue team, along with the base's survivors – as well as Hero – must contend with a new threat – a Bug Queen have taken over the Warden, seized its weapons and have infested the ship with her progeny, and threaten to use it to invade Earth and eliminate mankind!
