Character Profile: Lily Borjarno

The last of thirteen children, Lily Borjarno is the youngest daughter of the current Duke of Luiziana, the feudal North America territory that was once the state of Louisiana. She is initially employed by Guin Sard Lineford as a spy when the Earth-Moonrace negotiations move to Luiziana, and remains by his side as his mouthpiece well throughout the conflict, on board the WillGame, and even to the Moon. She is very fond of hot chocolate, and at one point tricks Kihel into volunteering at a Luiziana field hospital, upping the ante by having Kihel undergo all of the worst tasks available. It is not until much later that Lily discovers that the girl she thought was Kihel was in fact the Moonrace's Queen Dianna in disguise - much to Lily's deep mortification.

However, Lily is no mere airheaded aristocrat. Her flighty behaviour shields a shrewd politician's mind, and she is mindful of her opportunities and allies, gaining, discarding or retaining as she sees fit. As Guin's ambitions get the better of him, Lily insinuates herself deeper into the political game, and when he finally falls from grace, she's already there to step up and take his place as Earth's official ambassador and spokesperson before the Moonrace.
