Character Description: Dr. Tenma
Dr. Tenma was the former head of the Ministry of Science and was the one who created Astro while grieving over lost his son Tobio who died in a car crash. Dr. Tenma built Astro in Tobio's image and treated him as lovingly as if he were the real Tobio, but soon came to the fact that the little android could not fill the void of his lost son so he shut Astro down and burned the Ministry of Science down to the ground and fled.
Now Dr. Tenma has established a secret lab close to the Ministry of Science and continues to his research on advanced robotics. Many people are attracted by Dr. Tenma's genius mind for the purpose of building unauthorized robots. Dr. Tenma gladly accepts... for extremely high fees. By creating more advanced robots, Dr. Tenma desires to become their supreme master and rule the new robotic world. As Astro "grows up", Dr. Tenma realizes that he created a robot that could potentially surpass humans. From the shadows he continues to watch over Astro's activities and to engage in various secret machinations.
