Anime Profile: Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

Yukio Tanaka, known as Koyuki, is your average and boring 14 year old Japanese youth. His life is nothing to be proud of. He seems to have the worst luck with girls, and his existence seems pretty unexciting. Koyuki seriously wants to escape adolescence and make his life better. Rock was something Tanaka had never given thought to. In fact, he has a rather poor knowledge of music. But when he was reunited with his friend from middle school, Izumi Ishiguro, everything unfolds. He starts listening to Dying Breed, and Maho-san (his crush) soon finds his talent for singing.

Koyuki's luck then changes one day when he helps out a strange and mismatched Frankenstein-like dog named Beck who was being teased by some bullies. Turns out that the dog is owned by a fairly well-known guitarist named Ryuusuke Minami. Initially, Ryuusuke's original opinion of Koyuki was very low, but eventually, after discovering that Koyuki can sing, Ryuusuke invites Koyuki to join his up-and-coming band, which gets named after his dog, Beck. Koyuki soon discovers his talent and his life finally takes the exciting turn he's been yearning for.

Thus begins the rough and surprising journey of BECK, to rise to the top of the charts and into stardom itself! Watch as the band progresses through all of their stages toward stardom.
