Character Description: Meilin Rae
Meilin wants to be a Card Captor like Li, whom she adores. However, when she sees Sakura and Li together capturing cards, she gets very annoyed and attempts to take Li away. She doesn't have any magic of her own.
Right before she leaves, she becomes friends with Sakura and accepts her being a Card Captor with Li.
In episode 43, Melin says that Li and her are engaged only until Li finds someone Li likes more than her. They knew each other as little kids where Li never talked and never looked happy, but they studied martial arts together. Li started talking to Melin when her bird flew away and Li went to look for it in the rain. Melin started to like Li and told Li that she likes him and wants to be his fiance. That is when Melin asked Li to promise her that she would be his fiance until Li likes someone else.
On a side note, Meilin Rae was created specifically for the anime, and does not exist in the manga version.
