Character Profile: Mamoru Takamura

Takamura is the third oldest child in his family. He was kicked out of his house because of an incident at his older brother, Suguru's rugby game. Since then he has been living at Ohta Apartment complex. It is known that he went to North High. The way he got into boxing he was beating up some of his enemies. Then the Coach saw him and told him to stop. Then the Coach told him to come to the gym to test his strength.

He has brought three people to boxing. Ippo, Aoki, and Kimura. When Ippo asked him what is your favorite thing about boxing he said," The fact at my debut match, the applause fell down like rain. I was praised for punching people, that was also the first time I have been praised."

At the gym he is obnoxious and cruel. He came up with names that embarrasses people. He came up with " Big Mara Ippo" meaning big dick Ippo and " Tama Aru Ippo"meaning with balls Ippo. He was the World Champion twice. Winning against Jr. Middle weight, Brian Hawk. And Middle wieght champ David Eagle. He also won East Rookie King, and All Japan title. Winning the Japanese Middleweight title belt. George Morikawa said he is the strongest in all the series.
