Well, my mom never gave me problem for watching anime when we were living together. She sometimes stopped by and watched an episode with me, when I had something in my own language (she doesn't know either japanese or english, so she couldn't undestand the subbed ones).

The thing I least understand is why everyone thinks anime are for kids or nerds, but they themselves watch lots of series with real actors... what's different between GitS: SAC and LOST or Friends, or Dr. House? My answer would be "GitS is way more complex and mind-boggling, asking the brain to actually work", but the standard answer is "GitS is drawn, so it is for kids".

These are the answers that most sadden me, and the main reason for my silence about my passion :(

Indeed. Many people seem to think that all animated shows should be for little kids, and nothing else. For them, the very idea of an animated show made for an age group older than young children is pure blasphemy.

I've met some people that think that anime is nothing but porn due to the fact that in certain (non hentai) animes, females character wear very little clothes.

There are some really stupid people out there.

It doesn't really help that most mainstream anime is on the lower half of the spectrum. Everyone used to think DBZ when they heard anime, and automatically thought of huge hair and people making noises like they were constipated. Then came Pokemon, where people would catch little cute, furry creatures in balls and collect them.

Why can't mainstream anime ever be the really deep, beautifully drawn stuff? The one exception is Hayao Miyazaki works, but unfortunately I would consider them a little under the radar as well.

My mom always say I'm obsessed and she asks herself why I am so obsessed with it. My classmates always ask why I like it, they think I'm weird, they become tired of my talks and they like my drawings, but sometimes they don't like it to be anime style...

Before I cared, but now... Now anime is my life, my salvation, my refuge, my world. I can't live without it. I don't now anything else, it is like... I don't now how to tell it. My life, I have learnt it from anime, I have learnt lots of things with it, it makes me to feel I'm not alone... I don't now how to say it. The ones that make me feel that are the deep ones for me.
I think I don't need your light now, now I can walk by my self. Why? Because I killed your light long time ago.

anime and manga plays much too large a part in my life xDD

The music I listen to; anime theme songs.
The shows I watch; anime shows.
The books I read; manga and anime depictations (Ah! My Goddess the Novel)
The money I earn; is spent on the above.

I draw and write in my spare time - and I even want a job in the buisness when I'm older. I really had no idea that anime would span so far into my life upon watching that one episode of Pokemon... xDD

So I'm a nerd, I don't really care xD I was classified a nerd the day I got glasses.

My parents (specially my mom) think interesting that I'm so crazy about japanese things.
But my aunt doesn't like that my cousins love anime and manga. She doesn't let them study japanese and stuff... -___-'

Animes, mangas, J-rock are all part of my life now.
