Need some Explaination for Berserk

Ok, the series was amazing! but what I don't get is how the first episode ties in with the other 24. Here's what I understand, the first episode shows Gatsuu with a blind eye, going around hunting demons, but what I don't understand is how he got out of the hell nexus alive and what he was trying to accomplish by killing the demon and collecting the behellit. According to this website there are no episodes after episode 25 nor are any more due to be made, but based on what I saw in the first episode it seemed as if there should be more episodes to explain what the hell is going on. I mean it's not just loose ends we're talking about here, it's like the story just kinda stopped in the middle of no-where, like it's in the middle of an episode and then was cut off. If anyone can explain any of this or have any thoughts that would be great.

As far as I know, there are no missing episodes. You have to make the assumption that he made it out alive. The best thing to do is go back and rewatch the first episode after watching the last one. It does kind of connect the circuit. Of course, that is tough to do if you rented it from Anime Takeout or Netflix and already sent the first episode back.

Not likely to see Berserk on commercial TV in the US. Cable maybe, but it'd be cut to he.... heck.
