PS2 internet trouble

My brother's PS2 wont connect to the internet, and I dont know why.

The connection worked fine in his college dorm room last week. So, we took it to my house in our car and tried to hook it up to the internetin his room, but it wasnt working. So, we hooked his computer up to the internet and it worked fine, but the PS2 still wont work. He spent about five hours fiddling with the internet configurations, but nothing has worked. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

Well one thing could be the connection:

-some games for ps2 are broadband only
-router's firewall also seems like another likely culprit
