Problem with that statement is the fact Rex and Weevil don't want to admit they have a bond of friendship.
They're trying to stay rivals - but Deep (Extremely deep) they're friends; they just don't want to admit it.

Well because of a few reasons-
1. Weevil beat Rex in the second episode - Rex probably feels that makes them Rivals and he wants to beat Weevil one day.
Beating Weevil will be hard if they're friends.

2.Rex got furthur in Duellist Kingdom then Weevil - now for Weevil that's humiliating.
Weevil beat Rex but Rex got furthur in the tournament.

But aside from that they just feel that they can't be friends as they have to be rivals so that one day their rematch won't be so hard because they're not friends.

It's hard to explain - but they just don't want to be friends with each other.

I know now that I remember, He was crazy man...

I don't think I remember but his name seems familiar: Was Arkana a great magician with an awesome life and a beautiful fiancee named Cathrine. But then, it all that changed due to a freak accident in a magician's act. The accident messed up his life and career. His fiancee then left him with nothing. Then he accepted Marik's help. Marik told him if he could defeat Yugi/Yami in a duel that he would make Cathrine go back to him using the Millennium Rod. He agreed and dueled Yugi/Yami in a duel with the two Dark Magicians versing each other but he lost and he almost got sent to the shadow realm the first time. But Yu-Gi/Yami saved him and then Marik sent him to the shadow realm. Was Arkana him??
