Problem with some forums

Post by Vash »

This is a rather wierd problem that i can't explain myself. When there are new posts in the Japanese Language forum or the Anime Music & Soundtrack forum i enter the forum and theres no thread marked with new posts (so the topics wich have new posts since the last visit do not have the right icon). This is quite annoying because this way i don't know wich topic has new posts and wich not :? .

Edit: this only happens when i open the specific forums in a new tab (firefox)

I'll look at this sometime tonight or in the morning. I use IE while viewing the site. I need to install Firefox to check it.

Can you send me the version number of Firefox so I can download that as well.

But which version (File->Help->About). I will download the same version that you have and install it.

I assume you are running XP. If no, then what?

My Mac and Linux boxes are currently down so I cant test. I only have my trusty XP box IE right now.

NOTE:
Before the peanut gallery kicks in, I need to tell you that my Mac has been randonly kernel panicing and the Linux box have a problem with ipsec cashing it to crash as well. I just haven't had time to recompile the linux kernel or re-install the Mac OSX.4

Sorry, maybe I wasn't specific enough. Open Firefox and while reading this thread click on the menu option Help and then click on about. There will be a number there like 1.0.0, 1.0.1 or .01a (like mine had a year ago). Let me know what the number is so I can download the same number to try to duplicate it.

As for the second question. What operating system are you using?

Sorry for getting a little offkey here but O need details in order to help properly. BTW, there are almost 20 different versions of Firefox available on the net. I have 14 different ones at work for testing (and multiple versions of IE, opera, etc as well). These are questions that help us resolve the problem.

http://www.mozilla.org <-- latest (1.0.7)
OS is Win XP with SP2 and latest updates

And for the questions, they need to be ask, so i'm fine with that ^^.

And for checking the version of ff, I have quite a big knowledge with pcs and internet, so checking versions (if i should ever not know it by heart, what is not going to happen  ) is one of the easyest things ;) .

Edit: Ok, I just saw that 1.0.7 is not the latest o.O. I now have 1.5 but I still have the same problem.
