The Sweater

Shaking the box with glee, you wonder what's in it?
What is this thing that you know not of?
"Can I open it, Mommy?" You ask with cat like curiousity to get into this mystrious thing.
"Sure hun, go ahead." She tells you patting your head with a smile.
Tearing the tissue to shreads, your desparate to see what Nanna got you.

Finally, all the wrapping gone, jsut one more obsitcal left... tape...
Nawing at the side of it, picking at it, it just won't give.
Mom hands you the scissors, taking them quickly you destroy the evil tape.
Finally you can open this captivatiing treat.
From ear to ear witha beaming smile, as you pull away the tissue paper,
Soon your smile fades and you pull it out slightly, then shove it back in.
"Come no, what did Nanna get you?" Mother asks with a smiles still on her face.
Grumbling and freting, "I don't like it." you reply to her.
"Well give it here then..." Says mother with hands out stetched for the box.
Giving it to her hastly, she opens it and holds it up.

There in it's maroonish and purple glorly is an itchy icky sweater.
"Look hun, it goes perfewct with your eyes." Says mom witha s mile still on her face.
"I don't want it." You grumble with arms crossed ready to fo into full temper tantrum phase at the blink of an eye.
"Well, your still wearing it, Nanna made taht just for you.." Her voice fades out as thoughts fill your head.
***Nanna still thinks I'm a girl... Nanna is senial... I will never wear it!*** Is all you hear as mother onctinues on and on.
Giviong you the vial thing, you take it to your room like toxic waste, out stretched before you.
Tossing it into a random drawer, you hope to never see it again.

Days go by and so do monthes.
Soion it comes to a day when you have no sweaters left to wear to school..
"MOM! I need a knew sweater!" You shout to her from your room.
"No you don't! Wear the one Nanna made you, hun!" She shouts back making eggs.
Grumbling as you knwo she won't give, you lazily pull it on.
Looking into your mirror, the maroon is nice, but then that big unidorns face looks up at you.
Shuddering as you close your eyes, then shrug it off and make your way back down stairs.
Getting your breakfast eaten, teeth brushed you shove off to school.

Making sure your coat is zipped up tight, you can't bare to let ANYONE see the girlish sweater.
Taking your coat off, you hurridly move to the boys bathroom and take off the sweater in the stall.
Walking back out, you realase it's Valintine's Day.
Your little girlfriend of three weeks comes up to you with a box of candy and you nothign for her.
Looking down to your sweater you know what to do to.
Walking up to her, you hug as most third graders do, then exchange gifts.
She loves it! She is just brimming with happyness! Hugging you close she kisses your cheek.
Putting the sweater on, you to walk to class holding one anothers hand.
As you sit in your seat, you think, ***Thanks Nanna, you rock!*** Then go back tinot boring classes.
