Description: The Beginning After the End
Discover Anime @ AbsoluteAnime.comMorudaibaaKing Grey was the most powerful man on Earth, the strongest swordsman, the wealthiest aristocrat, the loneliest ruler. After a lifetime of conquest and isolation, he is assassinated by an unknown attacker, and dies wondering whether any of it was worth it. He wakes up in a different world, in a different body: that of Arthur Leywin, an infant born to a young couple of adventurers, with his memories, intellect, and combat instincts all intact. The Beginning After the End is the story of his second chance.
Arthur grows up in a household full of love for the first time in his (other) life, learning that he has access to a unique magical core and a bond with Sylvie, a mythical creature who imprints on him as her parent. As he ages and his magical training accelerates, his parents move the family from a frontier village to the city of Xyrus so he can attend the prestigious Xyrus Magic Academy. There he meets new friends, a few rivals, and Tessia Eralith - the elven princess he once met on a fateful adventure as a small child.
The show's central tension lies in Arthur's perspective. He is, on paper, a child; in his mind he is a forty-year-old monarch who has already lived a full life and is determined not to repeat his old mistakes. He fights as if every battle could be his last, parents his own parents with quiet exasperation, and quickly attracts the suspicion of teachers, mage councils, and ancient bloodlines who can sense that something about this boy is not what it should be. As the second season opens, his peaceful school days are giving way to political intrigue, demon-tinged threats from across the sea, and the slow realization that his second life may demand the same sacrifices as his first.
Adapted by A-1 Pictures under director Keitaro Motonaga, the anime brings TurtleMe's web novel and Fuyuki23's manhwa-style webcomic to screen with bright magical effects, kinetic combat choreography, and an OP/ED rotation that has cycled some of the more popular J-rock tracks of recent seasons. Critics have praised the show's emotional restraint. Arthur's reincarnation is played not for power-fantasy thrills but for the quieter shock of receiving the family he never had.
Based on the long-running TurtleMe web novel (still ongoing, with eleven published volumes) and Fuyuki23's hugely popular webtoon adaptation, The Beginning After the End has been a top-five title on Tapas and Webnovel for years and brings its readership with it to the anime. For viewers who like their isekai with stakes that mature alongside the protagonist, this one is well worth following.
