Roy doesnt use his golves for alchemy, he uses his fingers, and when ed goes that close, dang a blast to his face

roy uses the gloves to create sparks then uses the transmutation circle on the gloves to transmute the air with his fingers with the sparks

Got a point there. Ed's good when it comes to learning alchemy but I think that Roy's experience is what makes him better. Don't get me wrong, I respect Ed (I was a fan of his) but the experience that Roy has gives him an edge.
