Re: Anime in different languages
I import pretty much everything I watch in raw Japanese, so it's rare that I've seen something in English. The only thing I've seen in something other than those is a couple Yuu Yuu Hakusho episodes in Filipino. (priceless)

Re: Anime in different languages
Really? that sounds cool.
I think the portuguese are really funny in their translations...some are to litteral and the locals don't get the jokes! others try to use equivalent jokes in portuguese, which normally fail disgracefully, like Dragon Ball, but they still manage to keep the core.

Re: Anime in different languages
i've watched a few more mature animes in JPN, but most of them are in portuguese. but most comical on we got in terms of translation was Dragon Ball (specially the GT series), 'cause they tried to use local portuguese steriotypes, like some regional accents and icons to translate original jokes! what a joke...
but Dragon Ball revolutionazed Portugal, and my generation is called the Dragon Ball Gen.
