Kai Hiwatari

Post by soul_of_the_dreamer »

Do you rememer the second season of Beyblade-V force, when Kai didn't want to beyblade at the begginig of the season. Or we can put it like this: he was waiting for good enough opponent. How do you feel about that? I know that a lot of you here are his fans, but can you look pass that and try to think objectiv about the theme? Cuz I like Beyblade too and all the Bladebreakers, including Kai. But why would he stop beyblading just because maybe in a while he didn't meet someone very strong. I mean there are a lot beybladers in the world(in anime of course) and if you truly love beyblading, why do you then stop because of such thing? Beyblading should be (for beybladers) one of the most fun and fav thing to do and not just because of winning, but becaue of the game itself, especialy if you have a bitbeast. Don't you agree? I think that Kai thought to much of him self that time. Like he is really above all other beybladers(accept maybe equal to Tyson). It just seemed he actually doesn't LOVE beyblading. [-X Though I think in his special way he does.

my opinion on this is becauase in the first season he said that his ultimate goal is to be the best and the strongest blader in the world and to do and to be so he has to beat the best and the very best and when he can't battle anyone who he considered strong he (temporarily) retired from blading. so my main point is that he's reason for this action of his is that he has a very big dream which involves blading and i think he kinda lost taht dream in the beginning. besides, retiring for a little while didn't decreased any of his skill because if you notice kai was the only one in the bladebreakers who did not lose fighting one of the saint shields.

I thought it was sad that he didn't want to beyblade anymore but funny wen wyatt went and tried to blade in is place. I think he did love blading just acted like he didn't cause he was forced into blading not joining because he wanted to, but as the show progressed I think he actually started to show he liked to blade. I think even though he took a break from blading it didn't weaken him, if anything strengthed his bond with dranzer and thus making him stronger.

who cares how strong he was or anything.. the point is that he didn't want to beyblade because (in my high opinion) he was acting like a pig-headed jerk!! I am a huge fan of Kai trust me but I still think that his royal hyness went to far that time. If he thought that he was better than all the other bladers he could have at least thought of Tyson. I mean Tyson beat Tala, the strongest trainer in the world so Tyson was better and Kai really had no reason to think of him as the best.

The thing we have to consider is that a person's nurturing has a big affect on both their socialisation and the person they ultimately become. Kai was brought up to believe the only goal one should have in life is to be the best. His secondary socialisation, which one usually receives from agents such as the media and their peers, was performed by his grandfather and other people from the abbey. In other words, Kai, unlike most people, did not learn from TV programmes, magazines, friends etc. that having fun is an important part of life. He was merely taught to become the best, no questions asked, no fun involved.

It is a person's socialisation the ultimately determines their characteristics and personality traits. Kai may be an unfeeling and arrogant jerk at times, but we have to remember that he was surrounded by unfeeling and arrogant jerks when he was a child, they were the only role models he had in life so he ended up mimicking their social behaviour, a perfectly normal thing to do for a child. He may not be in the abbey any longer, but he has already reached an age where socialisation practically ceases, and when a person has fully learnt the norms and values of their society it can be extremely difficult to forget them and become accustommed to a different culture.

All in all, Kai can be cold and arrogant but he would probably find it very difficult to change who he is, even if he knew it was the right thing to do. Besides, it's his arrogance that makes him so sexy.

Haven't you seen season 3? It's because he wanted a worthy opponent to battle so he would win, and get stronger, when he battled Tyson when the right time came.

in that season Kai (once again) betrayed his friends and joined Bega just so he can battle Tyson. I know that is almost the same thing because he betrayed to show that he is the best but in my opinion Kai knows that the best blader he can fight with is tyson and he can't fight him in a match if they are both in the same team, right?Maybe that's what Kai is thinking when he betrayed the others.

In every season kai betrayed a team. Its what they all thought they all want to be the best and to be the best they had to fight tyson, and so in order to do that they need to be on another team ^^.

I'm glad the team switching happened. Otherwise I would never have had the joy of the KaixRei battle.

So much sexual tension... =P~

Oops.. I wrote a weird sentence.. what I meant to say that Kai had no reason to think of himself as the best, ya know what I mean?

BTW Vamoose I agree with you but still.. although it is hard for a person to change, he can still try. I mean at least for the ones he loves. And Kai does love the Bladebreakers, right? I think no one could disgree with that. But still his attitude is just yuck! I see that you like, which I have nothing against, different people have different opinions, but I think that if Kai showed a little more affection to his friends and always act like they're a bargain for him, he would still in my eyes reamin cool, hot or whatsoever (even more hot and cool!. Being more nice (not too nice, like in a sweetish-kind-of-way) would in my opinion give him a special, mature appereance, and that's what I think of hot

Yea I get it now lol..

I agree with that if kai did show more compassion towards the team like he did with dranzer it would be cool and very mature.

It would be mature and I bet he does try at times, but I still want people to understand how hard it can be. Not only do we have to consider all of the things I stressed in my previous post but I also think it very likely that Kai suffers from Schizoid Personality Disorder (SPD). He seems to match practically all of the ICD-10's Diagnostic criteria for SPD and the trauma with his grandfather almost definitely could have been a trigger for the onset of SPD.

Just something else for you to consider. If anyone wants to read more about SPD just click here. The diagnostic criteria is all there if you're interested.
