yes, i have seen both versions...
the only difference i can see is that the voice are much, much different
that, and on "peace maker", when vash is in the bar, he opens his mouth for a second.
In America, it is silent.
In Japan he says "Rem..."

you are right

some words didn't sound good in english, so they changed some of the phrasings a bit
