Mirage of Blaze

Post by Vamoose »

Once again, I am just interested in finding out any opinions on either the manga or the anime.

I stumbled upon Mirage of Blaze a couple of months ago but something must have distracted me as I never came back to it until recently. Seriously... what was wrong with me?!

At first I was a little worried. As I don't have a degree in Japanese history I found the plot of the anime a little confusing and, more importantly, after watching a few episodes I still hadn't seen any action. Now being the yaoi loving girl I am this was slightly disappointing.

Nevertheless, episode 5 appeared and saved the day. I realised I'd been missing all the sexual tension up until that point when it slapped me in the face! And now I'm hooked! Naoe and Takaya's intense relationship is addictive!

The OVA's are oh-so drool worthy too. If you've seen the second one I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about!

So, any thoughts?

PS Naoe is pure smex on legs!!! Gotta love the eighties shades!

Oh wow...if I had known this thread was here, I would have replied to it. I've seen alot of the anime on EncoreWam (weird cable is the best XD).

I agree with the Japanese history thing. It really is tough to understand sometimes. The names are what killed me at first. They say so many names that are both first and last and they were confusing.

Question: Did you hear them say that Kakizaki-san used to be a male? I only saw the episode where they said that once. Before that, I was completely confused. I was also confused as to what Naoe and Takaya's relationship was for a long time. I guess I learned ^-^

Yeah, she was a he.

I'm a little clearer on the history now. Some of the names still become a little confusing later on in the series, but I've done a bit of research and I now know a bit more about the fuedal era. Also, watching the sub as oppose to the dub helps. I find it easier to recognise names when they're written down.

But still a great anime!!! I watched it for the first time in ages the other day. Naoe is so gorgeous...
