East vs West (Negima fanfic)

Post by kukutaru_ookami »

First off I posted this somewhere else first under the name Naraku no Mangetsu so if you find it that's why. Post constructive criticism please I seriously need it. Oh right Negima(!) and all related licenses are the intellectual property of Ken Akamatsu this fanfiction is due to a far too bored me and I am not making money off this nor do I plan to...no suing.

Epilogue:

Fate gave a long berth over the undergrowth and reached his destination with ease. He let magic flow freely from his feet into the ground before quickly moving on. With one longer berth and three stabilizing steps he turned around and connected with his pre-placed magic probes. He smiled slightly as he could feel the overly cocky wolf-boy drawing close to his trap.
Within seconds of confirmation Kotaro Inugami flew through the undergrowth in his usual black jacket and jeans red shoes and white undershirt. He stepped in the place where Fate had stood a moment before perfectly in place for the seal to activate causing ice blue magical chains to wrap around the hanyou from the edges of the circle. Kotaro struggled fiercely against the magical restraints while Fate mouthed words that cumulated in his hand being covered in a dark purple glow. Kotaro felt a small chill of fear flow into him and he struggled harder until Fate’s alabaster-like hand touched his head.
Kotaro’s irises diluted as he felt like an axe had just been driven down into his skull and now someone was picking around in his brain. He closed his eyes from the pain but couldn’t scream and as desperately as he tried he couldn’t remember the events leading to his current situation nor many things. His eyes opened at this revelation. “You’re!” He exclaimed as he felt his battle with Negi against Graf fading form his head. Then he more or less went blank as his memories traced back to him passing out after using werewolf form during his first confrontation with the 10 year old western mage.
Fate took a few steps back let the chains dissipate and wiped the smirk off his face. He went over the story once more in his mind as the black clad boy raised a hand to his face shook his head and opened his eyes. “I lost, huh.” He said a little sadly and took a look at his surroundings, “so why am I still free?” He said giving a skeptical look at the mysterious grey haired youth.
“The plan failed on every level, even the so-called almighty demon was successfully defeated, I had demons pick you up from your captors.”
Kotaro nodded unsurely, “and the other two?”
“Captured by stronger people than the people who were charged with you I assume, as my demons were defeated.”
Kotaro nodded and then turned his back on Fate. “Well then we failed, damn that’s annoying, well there’s nothing to be done. Good to know you’re not as cold as you seem Fate.”
Fate saw his chance slipping away and decided to go full tilt, “will you really just accept your loss in such an unfair fight?”
Kotaro stopped and turned his head back to Fate. “I don’t plan on using any excuses I lost no two ways about it…sure I’d like to fight him again without that Nodoka-oneechan interfering so I’m going to track him down and ask for a fair rematch.”
Fate reached into his back pocket and pulled out a grey pocket watch, which seemed to give off a slightly electric aura. “What if you could remove her interference?” Watching the wolf-boy’s eyes betray some of his confusion he continued. “With this I could send you back to the time and place you just need to knock out that Nodoka girl and then you could easily trump Negi correct?”
“Grandfather paradox.” Kotaro replied calmly displaying an oddly high level of foresight that slightly surprised Kotaro himself.
“No, time will continue in this world until this point at which point the new world will begin and move forward, and if I’m wrong we’ll just return here with a vague awareness of something being wrong.”
Kotaro turned and faced Fate clearly baited. “So why don’t you go back and remove all doubt?”
Fate shook his head “can’t you’ll need a magical anchor to ensure you don’t get caught in he past.” Fate struggled to keep a smug smirk off his face as Kotaro stepped forward and stared him in the eyes.
“So why not send someone else back?”
Fate wondered if Kotaro was this questioning before but it didn’t matter he had anticipated this question. “I don’t like to go outside of mission parameters for such matters.”
Kotaro was a little apprehensive as he took the pocket watch from Fate. “So I just push the button?” Fate took a few steps back and nodded. Kotaro took a deep breath pressed the button on the top and a powerful gush of magical blue wind enveloped him lowered into an oval and released into a shockwave.
Fate felt the wave pass over him and fell to his hands and knees. The illusion magic that she had placed on herself wavered and vanished. Her dark hand rose up and swiped away the long grey hair that covered her red eyes. She stood up a little wobbly and patted her Mahora Gakuen uniform ridding it of the most obvious dirt and twigs. She smiled a little bemused at how easily the poor boy had been tricked. His intelligence was likely just her own fears passing onto him. She gently patted her hair back into its usual cut and made for the 2-A classroom. Zazie Rainyday couldn’t let her absence of her teacher’s return party be noted even if this world would soon undergo a large dimensional shift. She also thanked the real Fate for kindly dying for her so she could assume his place back then in the magical world and now.

A/N: This occurs after the current Negima(!) arc at the start of the next year therefore they're now 3-A and its basically a "new year" party.
