Character Profile: Sayla Mass

Sayla is the estranged younger sister of Zeon ace pilot Char Aznable (aka "The Red Comet). She finds this out later in the series, after Char and Amuro. In the novels, Sayla and Amuro have a brief but very heated relationship, while in the anime this is only hinted at.

Char (real name Casval Rem Deikun) later sends a briefcase full of gold bars to Sayla on the Whitebase, trying to get her to leave (he's worried about her safety). She refuses to leave, however, because she wants to fight to stop her brother from creating a world of Newtypes, as per their late father's ideal. Sayla herself is a Newtype, as are Amuro and Char.
