Character Profile: Yuki Mitani

Mitani was first seen in the middle of the episodes where Hikaru went to a Go salon. There he sees Mitani betting with an old man, and if he loses he must pay 200 yen. But while witnessing the game Hikaru notices Mitani's cheating.

The next day, Hikaru sees Mitani once again in the Go salon gambling to another old man. But after the game, the old man suspects the boy's cheating and defeated him, instanly winning all of Mitani's money! Being startled to the man's suspection, Hikaru challenges the man after seeing Mitani run off into the night.

Winning back Mitani's money, Hikaru runs after the boy and persuades him to join the Go club where he meets the rest of the gang.
